Kwale Women Representative aspirant Fatuma Tabwara has claimed the incumbent, Zainab Chidzuga has sensed defeat and has resorted to spreading negative propaganda against her opponents.
Tabwara described the fire-spitting Chidzuga as a “coward who has sensed defeat because of her poor development record.”The two are expected to face off in the race for the Kwale women representative position during the August 8 election.“Despite promising to deliver, she has done nothing. She has not engaged women in projects to boost their living standards,” said Tabwara. She asked Chidzuga to tell Kwale residents what she has done since 2013 to warrant re-election “instead of spreading propaganda about other aspirants.”Chidzuga is among Coast politicians elected in 2013 on opposition tickets but have since joined President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party. She ditched the opposition for the ruling party alongside Governor Salim Mvurya, Lunga Lunga MP Khatib Mwashetani, Kilif North’s Gideon Mungaro and Likoni MP Masoud Mwahima.Tabwara denied claims she was a local politician’s project who aims at spoiling votes for other aspirants. She described herself as a fearless and visionary leader.“I am not anyone’s project. I am vying because of my passion and desire to help fellow women in the county. Chidzuga should be ready to face other opponents at the ballot.”
