Kwale Women Rep Zainab Chidzuga has said the county is no longer an opposition stronghold.
Speaking on Saturday when Deputy President William Ruto toured the region, Chidzuga said Kwale residents are fed up with the propaganda and empty talk by opposition.
Chidzuga said the residents have shifted their allegiance and will back President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election bid in August.
The women rep said Jubilee has the interests of Coast residents at heart unlike the opposition which is allegedly full of empty promises and incitement.
“Our people have realized that the opposition has been engaging in empty rhetoric at the expense of giving alternative solutions to their problems. This is why they have resolved to abandon the opposition in favour of Jubilee,” said Chidzuga, as quoted by The Star.
On his part, National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale took a swipe at Cord over claims that the Jubilee administration was manipulating the voter registration exercise.
He accused Raila of spreading the propaganda after sensing defeat ahead of the August polls.
