Kwale Woman Representative Zainab Chidzuga has embarked on a voter registration and mobilisation campaign, to ensure victory for President Uhuru Kenyatta in the August polls.
Kwale, which is seen by many as the opposition zone, has witnessed a political shift with several leaders including Governor Salim Mvurya decamping to Jubilee.
Speaking during a drive to popularise the Jubilee Party Smart cards, Chizuga said she will be targeting more than 80,000 members during her campaign.
“Today, I met my committee members. They have been shown how to register as members using the smart cards,” said Chidzuga, as quoted by The Star.
Chizuga vowed to traverse the county to educate the common Mwananchi on the ongoing voter registration, as the party seeks to address issues of voter apathy.
“This will ensure we register enough voters and have enough members, because this is no longer a Cord zone but a Jubilee zone,” she added.
