Addressing the public at Mlolongo shopping centre, the Chief said that the government has come up with security measures that need support of the public.

He said that the security measures cannot be implemented fully if the public fails to provide their support.

“The public should be willing and ready to support our security measures,” he said, adding that there is need for locals to fully adopt Nyumba Kumi initiative.

He observed that though many have adopted the Nyumba Kumi initiative there is need for all citizens to do so.

The chief indicated that since the introduction of Nyumba Kumi initiative, cases of insecurity had declined drastically.

Kilonzo at the same time urged youths to work with the local leaders to promote peace, urging them to use their skills appropriately.

Commenting on illegal brewing, the chief said that the war against illegal brewers has been successful but added that police will continue to crack the whip on the few remaining.

He lauded residents for providing information on brewing dens that police have destroyed recently.
