Tiekunu residents in Ndeiya Ward, Kiambu County have been asked to be on the lookout and help the police with information that will nail criminals.
Speaking to journalists at his office on Monday, area assistant chief Stephen Ndun’gu said residents have the duty to help law enforcers in maintaining order.
The Chief added that law enforcers need the public support as they strive to fight criminals.
“The public should support our security initiatives for the purposes of maintaining law and order,” said Ndun’gu.
Meanwhile, the chief has put on notice illicit brewers in the area, saying they will not be tolerated and will improve the operations to ensure that the rid the area of illicit alcohol.
“Brewers of illegal alcohol should prepare to face the full force of the law, we don’t want to have cases of people losing their lives as a result of this alcohol,” he said.
He asked residents to provide information that will help in cracking down on illicit alcohol brewers.
