Speaking to the press after holding a meeting with village elders on Friday, the chief said that anyone found contravening the law will be arrested.

The chief instead urged locals to spearhead peace campaigns and live in harmony with each other.

“I want to ask Langa Langa people to be ambassadors of peace and harmony, not only in the area but wherever you go,” said Ng’ang’a.

Ng’ang’a urged locals to exercise peace and take advantage of the services being provide by the government to improve their lives.

He said that the government has put in place enough mechanisms to ensure issues facing them are tackled.

The assistant chief at the same time assured residents of their safety saying there is no need for them to worry.

He said that police will be conducting more patrols to weed out criminals who might be hiding among the people.

The local administrators at the same time asked residents to know the people they are living with.

“We want to encourage residents to embrace the 'Nyumba Kumi' security initiative since it helps us know who is our next door neighbour,” he added.

The chief said that Nyumba Kumi is working in other villages and estates across Nakuru and that it will be important for the residents to embrace it.

Nga’ng’a called on the youth to work with the government in the fight against crime.

He however raised concerns that young people are being used as weapons of crime.

The chief further urged parents to monitor the activities of their children this holiday season to prevent them from joining criminal gangs.
