Nakuru’s Langa Langa Chief George Ng’ang’a has complained over the rise in petty crimes and vowed to deal with the perpetrators.
Speaking to journalists after a dressing a public baraza on friday, the Chief said that cases of cattle rustling and robberies have allegedly gone up.
He said that investigations have been launched into several cases, adding that those behind the thefts will not be spared.
“We want to warn criminal groups behind cattle theft in Langa Langa that their days are numbered,” he said.
Ng’ang’a said that a team of elders and youth has been put in place to monitor and provide information on the issue.
The Chief further added that criminals will not be allowed to cause problems in the area, saying that the law will deal with them.
He appealed to the public to cooperate with local leaders and report cases of theft, observing that crime will be a thing of the past if locals work together with the law enforcers.
He further cautioned youths in the area against falling into the hands of criminal gangs, noting that they are being used by criminal masters to conduct robberies and theft.
He said that crime will make life difficult for them, adding that they should take advantage of the support being provided by the government to advance their lives.
