Unemployed youth in Kibera have been asked to forward their names to the Kibera location chief’s office to be considered for a job at a private security firm.

This opportunity is meant for young people with a minimum age of 22 but also open to people of up to 40 years who will be facilitated to acquire position at the security group.

Speaking to HiviSasa in her office on Wednesday, area chief, Christine Litswa urged the youth not to let the chance pass them saying the collaboration was a means of reducing unemployment in the area.

However the chief said the chance is likely to be given those who have at least completed their secondary school education.

"The minimum entry requirement is that we need someone who has at least attended school up to form four. Any other person who has gone beyond that can forward their name," she said.

She said both gender would be considered while advising women to open to come out in large numbers to try their luck. She also said only the forwarded names would be considered by the company for recruitment.

The chief further appealed to the youth to apply for the certificate of good conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (CID).

"In any job one applies, the certificate of good conduct can be used as an added advantage," she advised.
