Katitu sub-chief Dominic Mwangangi said he will hunt down those peddling drugs in the area and bring them to book.

Mwangangi said he won't sit back and watch as youths are being ruined by bhang cartels from the region.

He spoke at a funeral service in Manyatta, Kangundo sub-county on Tuesday.

Mwangangi who decried increased drug abuse in the area disclosed that he has a lead on the cartels and will smoke them out one by one.

He promised to cut the supply chain by apprehending all drug cartels who benefit by ruining youths.

"I know you and I'm coming for you, that's a promise. I will personally present you in court. I won't tolerate drug abuse in my area," Mwangangi said.

He said the peddlers were not only doing wrong to the people but also God.

"Let alone the laws catching up with you, God himself is waiting to deal with you or do you think he's happy watching you destroy our future generation?" Mwangangi stated.

Mwangangi said he will deal mercilessly with anyone found harvesting sand in the area.

"Sand harvesting remains banned in Kivaani Division and we won't allow the vice to crop back. Let everyone be warned," he added.

He said drug and substance abuse among the youths has been a major challenge in Kangundo and Matungulu sub-counties despite efforts by security agents to curb the crime.
