Newly appointed chief justice David Maraga will meet the opposition leaders from the Cord coalition.
Maraga will on Tuesday meet Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetang'ula at the Supreme Court as per the information availed by the opposition communication team.
The meeting aims to rebuild confidence in the Judiciary ahead of the 2017 general elections among other key issues that resonate around the Kenya justice system.
The opposition has had a rocky relationship with the Judiciary during Maraga's predecessors mostly questioning the independence of the Judiciary from the government but most specifically questioning the credibility the results of the 2013 disputed presidential polls that the former CJ Mutunga oversaw.
His appointment makes him one of the of judges that will oversee any presidential disputes during the 2017 general elections hence his commitment to mend the relationship between the judiciary and the opposition leaders.
