Area chief Amos Kamau said the area and the country will grow more if residents can carry out their activities in peace. Speaking on Sunday when he led tens of residents for prayers at the Kiaibabu Trading Centre in Githunguri Constituency, the chief said that peace was the catalyst for economic development not only in the country but globally.

“We expect the residents to have peace. This will allow residents to enjoy stability in our county which is good for our growth,” said Kamau.

He added: “Without peace there can be no development. Each one of us has responsibility of maintaining peace for the sake of this nation.”

Dave Maina, a bodaboda operator said that the move by the local chief came at the right moment when the country is in need of peace. He said that the country needs peace for it to achieve its development goals.
