Speaking on Monday at Igonga AP Police post where a suspect was arrested for defiling his daughter, the residents expressed their disappointment with the area chief for failing to ensure that they get justice.

"How comes chief Ayuma is the one blackmailing us that suspects should be given freedom. We are tired of his leadership," said Dominic Ong'uti.

"Cases before his office never go to court. He asks for bribes and defends the suspects. We call upon the national government to retrench such people from office," he added.

Vincent Momanyi said that the assistant chief has failed the people from the location at large and if he is not going to change, they will go on a rampage to force him out of office.

"Government officers such as chiefs should defend the law and not the contrary. How comes suspects who are supposed to be charged in court, their cases are left to Nyumba Kumi and community policing members to solve them. Since when did elders become judges of big offenses such as defilement, robbery with violence among others. Justice should be done,' he said.
