Area MP Kimani Ngunjiri has come out guns blazing accusing a local chief whom he did not name and police in the area of sleeping on their jobs.

Speaking during the burial ceremony of Charles Macharia at Engoshura on Wednesday, he said he will not allow more lives to be lost due to laxity among law enforcers.

“I blame a local chief and the police for failing to eradicate the illegal brew and warn them of dire consequences if they fail to contain the menace… This chief must be ready to go home if he won't consistently fight the illegal alcohol,” he said.

Confirmed reports indicate that Macharia’s two elder brothers have also died in the past after drinking illicit brew.

He stated most of the illicit brew sold to revelers in Bahati, is sourced in Nakuru town estates and transported by motorbikes.

He also re-affirmed his commitment in fighting illicit brew in the area.
