“Whenever a meeting is convened, it is wise that you attend to express your views and know what is happening in your area,” said Mwangi.

The administrator said that the public attendance would enable them to monitor projects' efficiency.

“Attending public meetings will make you track the progress of on-going projects while holding accountable to those invested with the responsibility of public money”, said the chief.

Speaking today at Bibirioni shopping centre during a public meeting the chief said that lack of public participation affects the progress of public projects.

He said that the public would know the projects imitated in their areas through public meetings.

“Lack of community participation in public projects leads to increase in inefficiency and corruption,” said Mwangi.

He also urged Kiambu County to include the public during decision making to eliminate chances of corruption.

“Whenever the public gives its views, the administration translates them to ideas that help in addressing the problems affecting residents,” said the chief

He further said that public participation is necessary when formulating guidelines in fighting security issues and poverty eradication.
