Parents from Giasaiga Sub-Location in Sameta Sub-County have been warned against allowing their school children around chang'aa dens.
This is because they will be negatively socialised and influenced to consume illicit brews to the detriment of their education and life careers.
Area assistant chief, James Mogo has decried cases where school children are allowed to patronise chang'aa dens instead of attending to their school homework and assignments, leading to their poor performance in school-based and national examinations.
Speaking on Wednesday afternoon at Nyambunwa village in his area of jurisdiction during a public baraza, Mogo declared war on all chang'aa dens in the area and challenged members of the public to volunteer credible information to his office concerning anybody believed to be influencing school children to consume illicit brews at the expense of their education.
"I am sounding a warning to parents that if you will not take charge of your children,I will not spare you if I find them in a chang'aa den," said Mogo.
The assistant also went ahead to warn parents against abdicating their parental responsibilities to the teachers alone and instead discharge their roles to ensure their children are morally brought up to fit in the fast changing society
