Maina expressed concern over grabbing of road reserves by residents, who are taking the advantage of no notice from the government for them to move.

“Residents have encroached all feeder roads of Wanyororo B Location, putting the lives of road users at risk,” said Maina.

Maina further noted that the encroachment has made transportation of goods and services impossible, as most feeder roads have been narrowed.

“These feeder roads have been grabbed making it impossible for a car to move a long, it is hectic for road users,” said Maina.

Speaking on Tuesday at Wanyororo Trading Center, Bahati Ward, during a public meeting, Maina urged all land grabbers of the feeder roads to vacate the public land.

'If you have encroached any feeder road, you better vacate before we use forceful eviction,” he added.

The administrator urged the residents to fence their plots within the demarcated points, and stop encroaching road reserves, warning that tough action would be taken against those who would ignore his orders.

“The Provincial Administration will take action to those people who will resist my orders,” added the chief.

The warning comes in the wake of massive land grabbing of public lands by vicious cartels involving politicians and officials from different ministries.
