Ouma has expressed his concerns over the rising cases of crime as the referendum calls continue around the country.

“The youth have been given hand-outs by politicians to disrupt peace and support the referendum. The constitution does not allow any politician to misuse youth for their selfish gains,” said Ouma.

He added, “Those found misusing the youth will have a case to answer.”

He said that misuse of youth is an offence which undermines their constitutional rights.

Ouma was speaking at the Manyani shopping centre, during a public meeting where he urged the youth not to be influenced by influential politicians with hand-outs.

He said that some politicians were recording details of youth after every referendum campaign rally.

The chief called on the residents to maintain peace and work with the county government to a achieve progress.
