Kisii County Assembly Chief whip Henry Moracha has asked members of the National Assembly from the region to accord Governor James Ongwae the respect he deserves.
Speaking yesterday during the Mashujaa Day celebrations, Moracha asked members of the national assembly to also desist from inciting the youth against the governor.
Moracha said the legislators should stop pushing for the removal of the governor from office when a predicament has occurred and instead support the governor for the good work he is doing.
He however called on all elected leaders from the region to unite and work together for the common agenda of developing the county.
The same was echoed by the Governor and his Deputy Joash Maangi showing their distress on how badly some politicians conduct themselves by engaging in cheap politics when a disaster has occurred.
Governor Ongwae asked the county commissioner Chege Mwangi and county commander to bring those involved in inciting the youth to book.
At the same time, Youths in Kisii County asked Governor James Ongwae to create more employment opportunities for them. The Kisii County Youth Development Forum Secretary General Justine Omwenga asked the governor to bring into the county more microfinance organisations that would give soft loans to the youth to start-up businesses.
He also asked the governor to consider the 30 per cent tender awarding to the youth as required by the constitution. Omwenga thanked the county government for helping them roll out the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) campaign that saw more than 50,000 people register throughout the county.
He also commended the bringing of Huduma Centre to Kisii noting that it will help the youth acquire identity cards and other services without having to go through a lot of difficulty as before.
