Nakuru County Women representative Mary Mbugua has sounded a warning to administrators partnering with rogue illicit brewers of dire consequences.
She has said that such people including chiefs are shaming the county with their actions and the law will not relent on them.
“Let this be a warning to anyone who knows he is doing this, because the law will definitely take its course. We have tried to end second generation alcohol in the villages but it has been met with resistance,” she said on Thursday.
Mbugua noted that such irresponsible chiefs and other security agencies have hurdled the fight against illicit brew.
“There has been warning to those who are partnering with brewers to stop it because it has so far made it impossible to end second generation alcohol in the villages but they have defied the orders,” she said.
She condemned the irresponsible behavior exhibited by Mawingu assistant Chief Joseph Rotich, who was interdicted on Wednesday following release of an amateur video showing him dead drunk.
She also condemned police in Molo for using excessive force to lobby a group of Women at Mukinyai who had come together to destroy illicit brew in the area.
