Kangundo hospital medical supritendent Dr Super Tunje has asked chiefs to sensitize the residents about an on going polio vaccination that kicked off on Friday to ensure all children are immunized.
Tunje who was speaking in Kangundo hospital today told the chiefs to intervene where parents refuse to take their children to get the jab.
She also requested church leaders to support the vaccination exercise and sensitize the residents about the need to have their children undergo the process.
“In the past we have always achieved 100% target and it shouldn't change this time,” she said and called on parents to ensure their children are vaccinated in the drive to stump out polio.
She said health workers will move from house to house administering oral polio vaccines to children under the age of five years whether they had or not been vaccinated before.
Polio is a disease that causes limb paralysis and is targeted for eradication from the face of the earth.
