Speaking in Garissa, Mr. Saleh said the administrators risk losing their jobs if they fail to fight terror in their areas.

The RC said some of the attacks are planned and executed in the region and wondered how the attacks are being carried out without the knowledge of the chiefs.

According to Mr. Saleh some of the Al-Shabaab attacks in the area are being carried out and led by Kenyan youths known to the community.

The chiefs should provide the list of all youths missing for over 6 months from their areas of jurisdiction for further investigation, added Mr. Saleh.

“This is unacceptable and this time around we are determined to sack any chief found to be complacent on his job. I want a detailed report on how we are dealing with Al-Shabaab and more so our youth who have been recruited by the terror group.”

“This is the year of action. If you fail in your duties count yourself jobless. I will personally sack you. We will not tolerate laxity among you chiefs,” Mr. Saleh said.

Following the attack at Qarsa Primary School in Wajir, Mr. Saleh had asked the chiefs to produce the suspects who were behind the attack saying they are well known to the community.
