Chiefs in Nyamira County have now been urged to improve on service delivery in order to curb the rising insecurity cases in various areas.
Addressing a group of local administrators on Wednesday, Nyamira County commissioner Josephine Onunga said that there have been cases of theft and emergence of illicit alcohol in most areas, calling on the chiefs to get to work.
She further said that all chiefs and their assistants will soon receive motorbikes with an objective of the effective service delivery.
“In the next few weeks, all chiefs will be able to respond to any crime in time as they will all have motorbikes that will be given them,” she added.
She challenged the administrators to ensure that common crimes in the county including robbery and illicit brews were dealt with accordingly.
She gave them strict instructions to deal with illegal liquor brewers in their areas by confiscating the manufacturing apparatus.
The commissioner pointed out that the problem was slowly recurring, adding that security officers should be firm in implementing the President’s directive to wipe out the brews in the country.
