Chiefs in Ijara Sub-County have been issued with 15 motorcycles by the Interior and Coordination Ministry of the national government.
Unveiling the motorbikes in a brief colourful ceremony at his office in Masalani town, Deputy County Commissioner Julius Too stated that the central government issued the motorcycles so as to assist the local administrators in boosting service delivery to the general public.
Too further cautioned the chiefs against misusing the motorcycles.
He also said each of the motorcycles issued should be ridden only under work ticket, adding that the entries and mileage on the work tickets should tally.
Masalani Chief Mohamed Aden led the community administrators in lauding the ministry for providing them with branded motor cycles to enhance service delivery to their residents.
The launching event was attended by Ijara OCPD Joseph Cheruyoit and all other Deputy County Commissioners from Ijara, Kotile, Masalani and Ruqa.
