Assistant chiefs from Bassi chache location in Sameta sub-county have been warned against meddling in the administration of the deceased's estates; instead guide the beneficiaries according to the law on the administration of estates.
Bassi Chache Chief, Henry Mirera has warned a section of assistant chiefs in his location to keep off interfering with matters involving administration of estates, claiming, some assistant chiefs were using such cases to allegedly swindle unsuspecting beneficiaries of their hard earned cash.
Speaking to this writer in the area after addressing a public baraza on matters touching on land disputes and administration of estates, Mirera lamented that his office received conflicting letters authored by some assistant chiefs on the administration of estates, leading to conflicts among beneficiaries.
“I’m making it very clear to the general public that, any letter authored by my assistant chiefs regarding administration of estates in my location must be consistent to avert any doubt or suspicion on the administration of estates,” stated Mirera.
Mirera raised a red flag over what he termed as inconsistencies among assistant chiefs in the area in writing letters of administration of estates, with such letters being written by more than one assistant chief, causing conflicts among beneficiaries.
He warned members of the public, especially those having conflicts on the administration of their estates to liaise with his office for professional guidance in accordance to the law on the administration of estates incase they detect mischief among his assistant chiefs to avert further conflicts in the process of distribution and sharing out of their deceased kins' estates.
