Renowned TV presenter Chiko Lawi has bowed to strong criticism from his supporters and apologised for using strong profane language in public.
According to a video on the Star, Lawi is seen responding to questions over the event and apologising for the mistake.
He said he lost his cool after Damian and his handlers insulted him and his mother.
"Perhaps the words I used were not cool but I was angry. My mum has got nothing to do with that (event)," he said.
"To be very honest I'm sorry to the Kenyans who got offended.... The language, the profanity was excessive. It was wrong with me and I am sorry for the language," he added.
Earlier, Kenyans had gone to social media criticising the presenter for the hostility against Damian and his team.
Some castigated Lawi for behaving 'childishly' and crying out loud when Damian refused to take a selfie with him.
