A 6-year-old child has been burned beyond recognition after fire razed down a house in Kombewa area of Kisumu.   The Monday incident was allegedly caused by a family feud over land between the deceased's father, George Olenyo, and his brothers.   Olenyo, a businessman in Kisumu, said he was woken up by barks from his dogs at around 1am, prompting him to find out what was wrong.   He later went to sleep but was woken up again by the dogs and a pungent smell of petroleum which he misconstrued to be one of his vehicles leaking then the house exploded into a big flame.   “I ordered my wife to get out of the house using the kitchen door which was not locked as I took out three of our four children outside only to remember that the 6-year-old was still inside the house,” he said.   He could not go back into the house because the flames were too hot as he heard the baby crying for some few minutes before succumbing to the burns and suffocation in the house, he added.    The child’s body was taken by the police from Kombewa police division who said they would investigate the matter.
