The County’s Children Department Director Samuel Masese said that the programme is aimed at ensuring that the children get the money without other people who claim to be less fortunate coming in.

“The 3,636 children shall be registered electronically for us to ensure that they are real people who are available and can be found. We also want to know that we are giving the money to the right people,” he said.

Speaking in Nyamira, Masese said that from the July this year, they will add more children into the roll to be given the money.

Masese said that they shall take the finger prints of the children during the electronic registration process, and take their photos that will be used to make cards that they will use to collect the money from the children department.

He however said that the process shall start in the 2015/2016 financial year, when they shall do more registration of children.

“We shall do the registration for the next financial year when we will add more children but at the moment, we shall continue paying the ones we have in the books,” said Masese.
