Children seeking treatment from the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital's (MTRH) Shoe4Africa children hospital in Eldoret town will now have a place to conduct their studies following ongoing plans to construct two classrooms at the facility.
Toby Tanser decided to construct two classrooms for them.
According to Shoe4Africa Chief Executive OfficerToby Tanser, his aim is to ensure children continue their education while in hospital.
"The two classes of 5 by 10 meters will be used to teach children who are admitted for a longer period at the Shoe4Africa Children Hospital to ensure that they don't lag behind in their education," Tanser said during the groundbreaking ceremony, Tuesday.
"The classrooms are expected to be completed by July 2018," he added.
The project which is dubbed 'Kuunga mkono' is sponsored by the Shoe4Africa CEO and his friends from Hong Kong.
MTRH CEO Dr. Wilson K. Aruasa who was also present thanked Toby Tanser for the noble course and urged other people of good will to chip in and help the children.
"I want to thank my friend Toby for coming up with this idea since it will really benefit children under medication," noted Aruasa.
