Led by the outgoing chairman Rolex Omondi, the group donated various items including clothing, shoes, Maize flour and monetary contribution towards sustenance of Kisii’s largest children’s home.

According to Mr. Omondi, the philanthropic activity will be done once in every three months for the sake of bringing hope to those children, many of whom are orphans.

“We will do it after every three months. They need company and love and that we will offer to the best of our ability,” he said.

Omondi challenged the government and other non-profit making organizations to set funds that can initiative such kind of activities across the nation besides supporting their education.

“I call upon the government and other organisations to invest more on these children. Most of these kids are brilliant hence giving them education is inevitable. Instead of wasting time engaging in non-issues, this is certainly what they should do,” he added.

The group, which has won several awards in national platforms, spent the whole afternoon entertaining children with plays and narratives besides giving them motivational speeches.

Secretary General Jane Gachoka urged the founders to teach children best morals and prepare them efficiently to the outside world.

“We have a duty to motivate and act as role models to these children. It is the obligation of the founders to ensure proper morals are taught here,” she said.

Omondi presented Sh100,000 from the institution’s Vice Chancellor Prof John Akama who also promised to send a Christmas hampers to the children.
