The directors of Heritage of Hope and Faith Children Home are doing a commendable job of supporting delicate but very important lives, says Jesinter Mwende.
Mwende who is the Mavoko Sub County Gender and Social Development Officer said it is not easy to get a children facility of Heritage's caliber.
"Heritage of Hope and Faith Children Home is doing a starling job, all credit goes to its founding directors' Joseph and Teresiah Kimiti," said Mwende.
According to Mwende, it is not easy to raise orphaned and vulnerable children right from tender age until they become responsible adults as the home does.
"It is hardly heard of homes that offer comprehensive support to abandoned children until they get through their university education," she said.
Teresiah said several children from the home who had been rescued either from streets or other places at tender ages and taken to school, majority being admitted to kindergarten had completed their university education and now in the corporate world pursuing diverse careers.
She revealed that a number had also settled in their own families and are now giving back to the home and the community.
Mwende called on directors of other children homes within and around the sub county to visit Heritage of Hope and Faith Orphanage for bench marking on how to effectively and efficiently run such initiatives and truly create impact in the community and lives of children under their care.
She was addressing the press on Friday at the orphanage's Athi River office.
