Embattled IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba will be away during the October 26 poll.
Sources within IEBC have intimated that Chiloba has decided to take a personal three weeks break to allow the poll proceed.
Chiloba has been under pressure to quit the electoral body after the Opposition pointed a finger at him over the 'bungled' August 8 presidential poll.
The poll was annulled by the Supreme Court on September 1.
The CEO's decision comes a day after IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati said a section of the electoral body's staff must quit to ensure a credible poll.
