Nyando lawmaker Jared Okello has revealed the reason behind IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba's refusal to resign from office despite pressure from the opposition alliance NASA.

Speaking in an interview on KTN News Sunday, the NASA allied MP said that Chiloba is currently putting in place fresh plans to deny the alliance under its flag bearer, Raila Odinga, its victory in the presidential poll repeat scheduled for October 26.

''We have information that Chiloba is not planning to resign or step aside until one week to the elections and is currently putting in place arrangements to ensure that the repeat election is not any different from the nullified one,'' said Okello who maintained that the alliance will not stand and watch as Kenyans' will is tampered with, again.

He stressed on the alliance's position that it will not take part in an election with a predetermined outcome, maintaining that Chiloba is Jubilee Party's agent deployed in the commission to hand the ruling party a win no matter what.

''We cannot go to another election with Chiloba and the others we have mentioned in office. He should now be leaving and we will not relent to have him ousted. We have had other poll officials involved in the mishandling of elections going home and he must too,'' said the ODM lawmaker.
