The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) CEO Ezra Chiloba has said that he has no problem with NASA leader Raila Odinga.
Speaking during an exclusive interview with Citizen, Chiloba divulged that he has been discussing matters of national interests with the former prime minister, despite having pushed for his removal from office over the disputed August General elections, which were later nullified by the Supreme Court.
"I could say I speak with Raila once in a while over matters of national importance at a personal level. Many may not believe this but it is the truth," he said.
In response to the reason behind his leave ahead of the October rerun, Chiloba dismissed claims that he quitted because of pressure from the leaders of the National Super Alliance (NASA) or incessant demonstrations organized by the political outfit across the nation.
He also called upon the government to speed up investigations into the death of the IEBC ICT manager Chris Msando a few days to the elections.
Chiloba came under fierce criticism after the Supreme Court called for a fresh election, citing massive irregularities in the August exercise. The leaders of the opposition accused him of colluding with other parties to deny Raila, who took the fourth stab at the nation’s top seat, victory.
