IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba has warned that if parliament fails to pass the election laws amendments proposed by the electoral body, voters will be denied their constitutional right

Chiloba said that some voters might be able be in a position to present themselves physically at the polling station.

“The law as currently crafted means that voters must physically appear at polling stations to confirm their bio-metric data. IEBC raised questions as to what happens to voters who do not physically confirm their bio-metric data during the 30 days verification period between 10th April 10 to 10th May ,”said Chiloba while speaking to Senate Standing Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights on Thursday.

Chiloba also said that in as much as the bio-metric voter identification is mandatory.
