The Chinese government will continue working with Kenya for more prosperity between the two nations, Chinese Ambassador to Kenya Liu Xianfa has said.
Xianfa said China-Kenya relations were in the best period in history, where tangible outcomes for both countries have reached new heights.
"We sincerely hope that China and Kenya will continue to work closely to push forward our friendly cooperation for more tangible outcomes, so as to benefit our two peoples," he said on Wednesday.
Speaking at the Chinese embassy in Nairobi, Xianfa said the diplomatic ties between the two nations will turn 55 years next year.
"As Kenya's good friend, good brother and a good partner, China firmly believes that Kenya will make greater progress in its development and modernisation," he stated.
The ambassador further said China would continue strengthening its role in promoting international cooperation through the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
"In doing so, we hope to achieve policy, infrastructure, trade, financial and people-to-people connectivity and thus build a broad platform for international cooperation to create new driving force," Xianfa added.
