Residents of Kisii county more so those residing in Mwembe estate has been urged to keep an eye on their hygienic levels after two adults were on Friday admitted at Kisii general hospital with cholera-like symptoms.
According to Director of Kisii County Health Services, Dr. Geoffrey Otomu the current frequent rains may result in cholera outbreak if the locals don't keep good hygiene.
Addressing the press on Saturday in Kisii the health boss said the two are currently under medication with their blood samples undergoing various tests to determine whether they're having suffering from cholera or not.
"We've already received two cases from Mwembe estate and we will give s comprehensive report by Monday but for now our health officials are on the ground to inspect all food joints and above all to ensure that strict hygienic measures are adhered to," said Otomu.
The official, however, said the county government in collaboration with national government will ensure if there is a break of cholera it's contained to avoid losing lives.
