Huruma ward MCA Peter Chomba has rubbished reports that he was to be installed as a Kikuyu elder.

He termed the reports as rumors meant to tarnish his name and political ambitions.

"It's not me that will be installed as the chairman of Kikuyu Community in Uasin Gishu County but an elder who is over 70 years who will be our spokesman," he said.

Speaking to press in Eldoret, Wednesday, Chomba said the meeting would go on as planned.

"It's sad that there are some leaders who are against the ceremony. I want to assure residents that the meeting will go on at 64 Stadium and will be graced by the Deputy President."

He reiterated that it would not be a political meeting but rather a cultural meeting conducted by elders.
