Photo/mgafrica.comThe IEBC has cancelled Monday’s planned test of how voter identification and transmission of results through the Kenya Integrated Election Management System (KIEMS) will be done following the death of its ICT manager Chris Musando.

45,000 KIEMS kits will be used by the electoral body’s officials in verifying registered voters before voting and to facilitate reliable and efficient electoral process on August 8.

The exercise was to be conducted across all county tallying centres.

The test in Nairobi was to be done at the Bomas of Kenya at 3pm.

In Mombasa and Kisumu the test was slated to take place at Bandari College and Tom Mboya Labour College respectively.

Musando’s body was found in Kikuyu on Saturday and taken to Nairobi’s City Mortuary.

Musando went missing on Friday night.

His vehicle, a Land Rover Discovery was found intact at TRM Mall at 1 am on Monday.

“We have postponed the simulation exercise until a later date,” Chebukati said at a media briefing outside the City Mortuary after confirming Musando’s death.
