Christians around the country have been urged to engage in more prayers for the nation as the New Year begins, to promote peace and prosperity.
Speaking to worshippers during a sermon at St Lwanga Catholic Church in Njoro on Sunday, Ebgail Njoroge observed that the nation had encountered many devastating acts, ranging from terror attacks, family tragedies and road accidents as well as economic hardships, and called for Christians to up prayers for God’s blessings during this year.
“As we begin the year, let us reflect on the tragedies of the yester-year and up our prayers for the nation as Christians. We experienced many ugly incidences like terror attacks, family tragedies, accidents and economic hardships, which claimed many of our beloved ones. Let us ask for God’s protection and blessings during this year,” said Njoroge during the mass.
He observed that God would bless the nation if Christians engaged in prayers, and if Kenyans resolve to remain united and keep away from tribal politics.
He further observed that the disbanded International Criminal Court case against President Kenyatta was as a result of immense prayers from Christians, and the president himself, who continuously maintained that he looked upon God to see the case, is over so as to unite the nation and continue leading it to prosperity.
The cleric further urged Christians to pray for the deputy president William Ruto, so that his case is also thrown out to steer unity in the country.
