The county government of Uasin Gishu has been urged to install security lights in Kidiwa estate so as to curb increasing cases of insecurity in the area.
Security agents have also been asked to increase patrols in the estate situated in the outskirts of Eldoret town.
This follows a Sunday early morning attack that lead to the murder of one security guard manning a Church in the area with the other injured.
According to the Central Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church Pastor Noah Chumo, there's need for security lights to be installed in the whole estate to help enhance security.
"The county needs to come in and see how this area can be lit because it looks like criminals are taking advantage of darkness," Pst. Chumo told the press at the Church's compound, Monday.
"This is the fourth time this year that this Church has been targeted by criminals," he added.
During the attack, Sh11,000 cash was stolen by the unknown people with the other security guard sustaining injuries. He was treated at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) in Eldoret and later released.
"I have lived in this areas for over 30 years now and there has been close to 20 criminals attacks to this church," noted the Church elder Frederick Nyaticha.
