A section of Seventh Day Adventist elders from Nyamira have come into the defense of embattled Chief Justice David Maraga.
Maraga, 66, is facing ouster threat after a lawyer filed a petition in the National Assembly to have him kicked out over gross misconduct.
Led by Nyabicha Aming'a, the elders asked politicians to give the judiciary humble time to perform its functions.
"The constitution has highlighted functions of the judiciary and it is unfair to single our Maraga just because he is performing his duties.
"Politicians should give him time to do his job. It is wrong to politicise court judgments. As the Church, we pray for sobriety in our politics," he said.
Lately, pundits have been claiming that President Uhuru Kenyatta is keen to 'fix' the judiciary with Maraga being among his top targets.
When his victory was nullified, Uhuru said, he would revisit the matter because 'the will of the people could not be decided by six people'.
