This was said by the presiding priest of Deliverance Chuch Reverend Kennedy Mbatia during the Jamhuri Day celebrations in the sub-county held at the Thika sub-county stadium on Friday.

Mbatia said that there is no difference between the government and the church, as all are involved in the affairs of the public.

He said that the government will apprehend the lawbreakers and confine them in prisons, while the church will advocate for the people living by the law to avoid ending up in prison.

Mbatia added that the residents have to be reminded regularly on living together as brothers and to learn how to earn a living without hurting anyone.

The man of God said by doing this, the crime rate will reduce and people will move closer to God, thus fulfilling their mandate and role in the society, and also helping the government in their key role of security.

The bishop went on to commend the security team in the sub-county who announced their strategy of not taking a break during the Christmas holiday in order to provide security all through the festive season.

The remarks were also acknowledged by the deputy county commissioner, who said that security must begin from the individual persons, to homes and then extend to larger geographical areas
