A section of church leaders from Nyamira County have expressed their optimism that Chief Justice David Maraga will give a binding ruling based on the law.
Even as chaos and tension rocked parts of the country, Maraga, for the second time in as many months, will be on the spot in a crucial presidential petition.
Led by Henry Nyamwanda, the leaders warned politicians against victimising Supreme Court judges in their ruling.
"We know him as a man of integrity and we have no doubt that he will ensure the rule of law is upheld. We urge his team to be bold and focused," he said.
Nyamwanda added: "Politicians should desist from threatening them. We know they will follow the law and let us respect their decision."
In his September ruling, Maraga was subjected to criticism from a section of leaders led by president Uhuru Kenyatta.
In a rejoinder, Maraga dared the executive to abolish the judiciary all together if they felt that independent decisions did not matter.
