Speaking yesterday at Kiambu Town during a church service in a special session for the youth, Maina said that the church had a role to fight against the rampant use of drugs and consumption of alcohol.

“The clergies have a role to model our youth and guide them in the right path that will enable them lead a better life,” said Maina.

Maina accused the society of abandoning its tasks of nurturing youth into respectable members of society.

“The society is keeping a blind eye on the challenges affecting our youth, making them divert from moral issues. The church fraternity has started counseling session to help our teens to cope with day to day challenges affecting them”, said Maina.

Maina urged all teens to keep in touch with his church for spiritual nourishment.

The cleric also urged the government to invest heavily in the youth to ensure that they contribute positively to the country.

“The government should equip our youth socially and economically to enable them be part of our society,” said Maina.
