Leaders of the Redeemed Gospel Church have handed opposition supremo Raila Odinga a blow after making utterances that appear to rally behind the state.
They said that the time for politics was over and there was a need for the opposition to respect the authority of the Uhuru-led administration as it was validly elected.
''I am speaking as the prophet of the hour. We need to respect the government of the day and we need to know that the time of politics is over now. We need to have one language of development and if we have that language of development God will bless this nation,'' Bishop Arthur Kitonga said.
They spoke today in Komarock, Nairobi.
They said that they would rally behind and pray for President Uhuru Kenyatta's development agenda.
The development could leave Raila Odinga more exposed in his push for electoral reforms.
