Bishop Andaro said the vice was taking a dangerous dimension hence the need for church leaders to come out and address it.

“It is painful to see the dimension domestic violence is taking in this country and I want to appeal to the church to play a central role in ensuring that couples live harmoniously,” he said.

He was speaking in Kisumu on Wednesday at the close of a seminar that was organized for pastors and counselors where over 500 people were in attendance.

Bishop Andaro said it was sad that parents were now turning against their children due to domestic feuds.

He said the trend was against Biblical teachings hence the need to tackle it head on.

Andaro who is also a trained counselor called on families to come together and reason and at the same time and visit councilors in times of problems.

“It is my appeal to families to always allow dialogue to prevail whenever they have issues at home. Turn to your local pastor or church members to help you solve the rising issues,” he said.

The cleric meanwhile called on political leaders to shun early campaigns and instead delve deeper into development.

Andaro said premature campaigns will go a long way in raising political temperatures for no good reason.
