Kisii health officer George Ombati has called upon churches to help spread the message on the importance of measles vaccine and awareness campaign an exercise set to start this week.
He was speaking today in Kisii town.
“Parents ought to ensure their children get the vaccine which is very crucial. Protect your child against the possible effects of measles,” he said.
The programme is set to kick off from 16th to 24th of May.
He said churches have a great influence on the community and have a duty of telling parents to seek for the vaccine at the hospitals.
“Spiritual leaders should be at the forefront in ensuring parents take their children for the vaccine," said Ombati.
