Uasin Gishu CIPK chairman Abubakar Bini has supported the move by President Uhuru Kenyatta of removing NTSA officer from manning roads due to public outcry.
He said the move was in order since they were the major causes of accidents on our roads.
“As religious leaders, we support President Uhuru Kenyatta’s directives 100% since NTSA officer was corrupt and did not care about people’s lives but their stomachs. They had totally failed to contain to contain road carnage leading to hundreds of people losing their lives,” he said in Eldoret town, Tuesday.
“He should not only remove them from our roads but disband it totally since it has more harm than good, these people are sleeping on their job since under their leadership we have lost over 300 people,” he added.
He, however, urged drivers to be careful while ferrying passengers.
“I humbly urge you to observe traffics rules and avoid drinking while driving especially during festive season. We want everyone alive come January,” noted Bini.
