A city driver on Tuesday denied claims that he killed his wife who died after they allegedly fought while drunk.
29-year-old Leonard Mumo was accused of killing Rachel Mumbua on June 16 at Pipeline area Nairobi following a domestic quarrel.
According to police reports, Mumo arrived home at around 9 pm and found his two children and house help watching television alone as their mother had not returned home.
The wife arrived later at around 10 pm while drunk, something that prompted a fight.
The court heard that the house girl tried to intervene but she was overpowered by the two.
Her body was later found hanging on the window grill by the house girl who alerted neighbors.
Neighbours rushed her to hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Mumo denied manslaughter charges and was set free on a surety bond of Sh500 000.
