Ngondi was to appear before the commission on Friday but failed saying he would instead honour the call on Wednesday.

He was set to make his submissions to the anti-graft agency following the scuffle that took place during the Assembly proceeding as the MCAs debated on the impeachment motion of Governor Evans Kidero.

In an interview with a local daily, Ngondi said he was out of Nairobi for a retreat in Kisumu city with the Assembly liaison committee.

"I had written a letter to EACC requesting them to allow me appear before them the following week on Wednesday at 10 am since I was not within on the material day," he said.

He further hinted that he was never afraid to be grilled since he never took part in the fist fights that took place during the alleged motion to impeach Kidero on September 29 this year.

The investigations will look into the leader's code of conduct in the City Hall chambers during the fateful day.
